- St. Petersburg leg of TSR will have the widest representation of recent years in terms of both structure and the number of vessels as compared with other host ports. TSR organizers – non-commercial partnership Sail Training International – were concerned that part of the fleet might leave for the second transatlantic stage of the race but it hasn’t happened. The majority of yachts took their course to St. Petersburg, the most attractive port of the Baltic Sea.
When visiting St. Petersburg, management of Sail Training International noted traditionally active participation of Russian A-class sail ships Mir, Kruzenshtern and Sedov in international competitions.
