«Moving fast, hurrying to the regatta. Touched at a port of Hanko. Met yachts of the Volvo Ocean Race regatta near the Moschny Island (Lavensaari). Happy and satisfied!». These are the messages sent by crew members of Russian yachts on the way from St.Petersburg to The Tall Ships' Races 2009 start in Gdynia. June, 30, 6.15 a.m. the first yacht «Bylina» moored. 3,5 out of 5 days the yacht sailed under spinnaker. The wind force was up to 4. On the way to Gdynia L6 class yachts organized friendly race so «Bylina» has already won its first victory.
The same day, in the evening Nika reached the port of destination and on Jily, 1 «Yuniy Baltiets» sailing vessel and 7 more yachts will moore in Gdynia. On July, 2 the crews will pass through STI safety check and take part in the regatta’s opening ceremony. July, 3 the crews parade will be organized. Next day the cultural program is set. And on July 5 all vessels will take part in the Sail Parade, after which the first leg race will be started.
